An architect by the name of Bertram Goodhue, was the leading practitioner of the Spanish revival movement. It began to gain acceptance with the popularity of Goodhue's designs at the 1915 San Diego Exposition. The style spread and was initially predominant in areas with a Hispanic past: Southern California, New Mexico, southern Arizona, Texas and Florida.
